Jordan B. Yeager is Partner and Chair of the Environmental and Public Sector Section.
Mr. Yeager has a dynamic practice on behalf of a broad range of private and public sector clients. Clients and fellow attorneys call on Mr. Yeager when they are facing difficult challenges, relying on his sound counsel, creative problem solving, strategic advice and zealous advocacy. With a wide range of litigation experience, Mr. Yeager currently focuses his practice on appellate litigation, zoning and land use, municipal law, environmental law, constitutional law, and employment and labor law.
Mr. Yeager has served as Solicitor and Special Counsel to municipal governments, with emphasis on labor, employment, zoning, land use and civil rights litigation. He represents public and private sector employers and employees in all aspects of labor and employment law, including counseling, negotiations, arbitration, litigation, trials and appeals.
Mr. Yeager also advises municipal governments, community associations, non-profits and individual property owners in connection with environmental and land use matters, including issues related to gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale formation. Mr. Yeager litigates zoning, DEP permitting, and environmental claims in state and federal courts and administrative agencies.
In the landmark case Robinson Township v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Mr. Yeager successfully argued before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court that Act 13 of 2012, amending the state’s Oil & Gas law, violated Article I, Section 27 of the PA Constitution (Environmental Rights Amendment). The Supreme Court’s ruling, adopting Mr. Yeager’s arguments, has been widely recognized as an historic decision which revitalized the Environmental Rights Amendment and ushered in a new era of environmental jurisprudence.
Mr. Yeager is a frequent lecturer and published author on employment law, land use, and environmental law. He has been widely quoted in the media, including in the New York Times, Washington Post, Philadelphia Inquirer, The Nation, and on National Public Radio.
Mr. Yeager has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer, was awarded the Florence Neilson Environmental Leadership Award in 2013, and was named as a Lawyer on the Fast Track in 2006. He has served as Solicitor to the Bucks County Democratic Committee and as legal counsel to the Pennsylvania Democratic Party and numerous federal, state and local campaigns.
